World Market Center Las Vegas, or WMCLV, today is being developed by International Market Centers, L.P. (IMC) after merging with the original developer and the properties in High Point NC. WMCLV was first announced in 2002, by its original developers after many years of lobbying by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority LVCVA, and the Nevada Development Authority (NDA), to the possibility of having a second Furniture show, in Las Vegas, by trying to relocate the convention from High point North Carolina. WMCLV was opened in May 2005, having holding the first show that July. Today WMCLV has three buildings, spanning 16 floors with a total of over 5 million square foot of space. The Las Vegas Market convention brings in approximately 50,000 attendees to the valley twice annually, once during late January, or early February, and the second during the last week of July, or during the first week in August. During the last week of July in 2013, it will be the show’s 8th year in Sin City.
